Random facts. Lots of them.

  • Listening to: Kaizers Orchestra
  • Reading: Violin by Anne Rice
  • Watching: South Park
  • Playing: Super Mario 64 ftw
I've been neglecting my journal. Thought it was time to write something sensible. Ish. Maybe. We'll see.
So, since I've been here for about 8 months (and I quite like it here!) it's probably time about time to write something about myself. Like, an introduction or something. Here's some random facts.

- My name is Mari, I' Norwegian, 18 years old.

- I live in England atm, though.

- I'm attending college, doing 6 courses, but the one I love most is art.

- I'm going back to Norway next year to continue my education there.

- I think England is awesome.

- But Norway is in my heart <33

- I love my life and try to make the most out of it.

- I love nature; mountains and forests. That's where I find peace and inspiration.

- I can't stand asphalt, and I'm not particularly fond of cities in general.

- Somewhere in some quiet countryside is where I'd rather be.

- I love gothic art and literature. And dark, beautiful stuff in general.

- Wuthering Heights is one of my favourite novels.

- I quite enjoy reading.

- I find Tim Burton's movies very beautiful.

- I'm also quite fond of vampires.

- But I don't care about Twilight.

- As far back as I can remember, I've had an obsession with pirates.

- I want to write a book about pirates. An illustrated one, with lots of watercolour paintings.

- I want to be an artist. That is my dream. If it can ever come true, I don't know. But I'm going to try my best, and work hard on developing my skills. That's the best I can do.

- Mostly I find photographing quite boring. It's nice for capturing good moments and memories, but artistically it just doesn't do anything for me. I want to create my own little world, not take a photo of something that's already there.

- I also quite easily get bored with digital art. I enjoy physically working with paints and materials, not staring into a screen all day.

- I don't particularly like anime/manga style. I think the art style is too stylized and not expressive enough for my taste. But then that is just my personal preference, and I fully respect that many people love this style.

- I love other 2D animated movies, though. Like The Little Mermaid, and Anastasia. They're fabulous.

- I listen to a lot of different music. My favourite bands are Muse, Kaizers Orchestra, Franz Ferdinand, Nightwish and many, many more. My musical taste changes from day to day. One day I prefer classical rock, the next day goth rock, indie, metal, country, classical, folk rock - mostly anything. But I'm not very fond of techno or trance. And I think hip hop and RnB are OK for dancing, but nothing more.

- I love pubs. Especially the old, cosy ones. I love the atmosphere.

- I really like going out, but I can just as well spend a Saturday night in my room with music and a sketchbook or some paints.

- I love my chocolate too much. And I eat too much of it, especially now that I'm in England where the prices are lower than in Norway.

- But I don't really care about calories and stuff. I'm all right with being the way I am.

- I walk about 10 km every day.

- I'm not a particularly interesting person.

- I strongly doubt if anyone will ever be reading this.

- If you did; cool. I appreciate it.

- And I truly appreciate comments and constructive criticism on my artwork. I need it to improve my skills, and that's what I want more than anything.

- I think I'm gonna stop now..^^

I don't know half of you half as well as I should like;
and I like less than half of you
half as well as you deserve.
